• Female Maine Coons have more affectionate personalities than males who are more independent.
• Some male Maine Coons may exhibit dominant behaviour, while others can be more gentle and cuddly.
• Whether a male or female Maine Coon is more compatible with other pets depends on the individual cat and how soon they are introduced. Based on my experience, a kitten born in a big litter and growing up with many siblings will be more accepting of other pets. Females for example may be more accepting of dogs.
